How do problems with the spinal column originate?

Causes include:
• Obesity or heavy work
• Extended periods of standing or sitting
• Movements producing one-sided pressure
• Lack of exercise for compensation
• Emotional burdens such as wherries, stress, anger and anxiety which leads to inner tension
• Violent impacts (tumbles, accidents)

These causes may lead to a misalignment of the vertebrae or to a dislocation of the intervertebral discs. This narrows the affected neural arch and compresses the emerging nerve root whose function is then impaired. The consequence is pain in the back (primary symptom) and in the affected body parts (secondary symptom) or organs which can no longer be supplied by the nerves because of the compression.
